Service Information

Lori K. Kley, age 63, of New Ulm formerly of Winthrop passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Funeral Service will be Friday, June 28, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday, ALL at church.

Obituary

Lori Kay Kley was born on November 4, 1960, in Gaylord, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Margaret (Spoor) Woods and Dennis. Lori was baptized as an infant at the Methodist Church in Winthrop and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon, Minnesota. She received her education in Gibbon and was a graduate of the Gibbon High School class of 1979. Lori furthered her education at Ridgewater College in Hutchinson earning her nursing degree.

On September 28, 1979, Lori was united in marriage to Wayne Kley at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Together they raised two children, Brad and Lee Ann. They later divorced. She then spent many years with her significant other, Randy Zieske, who preceded her in death.

Lori resided in Winthrop and later moved to New Ulm in 2005. She was employed at EON Company in New Ulm as a home health care nurse, and previously at Good Samaritan in Winthrop, Green Giant, Elementary School in Gibbon in the cafeteria; and she co-owned Sunrise for Seniors in Winthrop.

Lori loved her animals and taking care of her pets, Libby and Jeb. She loved to read and sit down with a good cup of coffee. Lori was very proud of her children and loved them very much. She loved spending time with her girlfriends, Brenda and Edith, her aunt, Bernice, and other special friends. Lori enjoyed volunteering her time and donating to charities.

Lori passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 63 years. Blessed be her memory.

Children, Brad Kley and his wife, Becky of Redwood Falls, MN, and
Lee Ann Kley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL;
Grandchildren, Cincere Kley;
Step-grandchildren, Alison (Max) Salazar, Joshua (Kandie) Sawatzky and Evan Leach;
Great-grandchildren, Kenai;
Step-great-grandchildren, Milo, Enzo, Jonathan, Lily;
Brother, Kevin Woods and his wife, Shelly of Winthrop, MN;
Her dog, Libby and her cat, Jeb;
Many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Lori was preceded in death by her Loving Mother, Margaret Woods and Dennis; Life Partner, Randy Zieske.
