I've recently saw lots of videos popping up on how Season 2 was ruined, it's an anime original, and it skipped parts of the manga. I don't know all the details on why it's bad. Ever since Season 2 was announced i was thinking of watching it. also i've read the manga until

the first 2 episodes were nice on setting up the story, the third episode was a bit slow and
the 4th ep was just some bullshit episode, wasting time, could've been used for some important shit but they didnt. 5th ep is probbaly one of the most infuriating part bc they ruined a big reveal and glossed over important information. the 6th ep is probably the best one so far tho, it matched the manga pretty well. something id expect every tpn episodes to look likeFeb 22, 2021 5:49 PM

It is horrendously shitty. If you are reading the manga then you should probably continue doing that for the best experience
Looks like the manga will be the best choice for me, i can't wait, i'm hella excited to get back to reading it.

I’m currently watching it and I think it’s pretty good. It seems a bit rushed, but other than that, I have no problems with it. Although from what I’m hearing, it skipped a huge arc in the manga. I’m debating on if I should read the manga or just stick with the anime.

I loved season 1 and it saddens me what season 2 is been doing, from episode 4 to 6 everything seemed rushed just to feed us information. I will most likely read the manga because i loved s1

For anime-only, it's alright. I guess...
I wasn't a fan of the first one already so I thought this one was a bit better, not by a lot. (it may in fact be worse in the end) I knew of the spoiler, so I'm suspecting that I won't like it and I wasted my time on this. Who cares. I'm not attached to anyone in this serie.

The anime will probably end the same way the manga did, but it already skipped a ton of content. Even if the anime can be understood, the impact will be entirely different without the original context.

It is GARBAGE. It's actually even worse than the 7.36 score implies. The mean score should be a 5 or lower.

Compared to manga, it is awful yeah, but from an original pov it's not terrible but not that good either.
All the people saying they'll just read the manga aren't going to find any solace there, the manga sucked after the Garden Escape Arc as well, because the original vibe of the series is literally never there after that arc. Yeah Goldy Pond was good, but it was 7/10 at best, compared to the 9/10 of the first arc.
Let's be real, both the manga and the anime suck after the escape because the author simply didn't know what to do with the story.

As an anime only, the pacing feels bad....it's both slow and fast (I can't explain). Some dialogues are missing context maybe cause of the parts skipped.
But I think manga-readers are mostly angry cause they skipped the best arc.
Can someone tell me how important that arc was?
Was it like the" Yorknew Arc " or "Heavens Arena" of HxH?

And it builds a lot of the world of TPN. It is the 2nd best arc in the whole series right after the Escape Arc.
However, it is nowhere near as good as Escape arc, the suspense and thrill that the Escape Arc is never there in the series after that, and Goldy Pond Arc is really just a typical action shounen type arc.
The only thing you miss out on is the character development and world building, which is very significant.
But since nobody is adapting TPN after S2 anyway, it doesn't matter.

It's a step down from the first season. Less psychological elements, plot is weird, etc.

Immediately, I was bewildered when I saw the first season of the second season, it was packed with action, with every single screen teaching future artists the proper way to animate characters and backgrounds. When I heard rumors that the show was going to be anime original, I was skeptical like everyone else.
When it became an anime original, I knew that this show would be a masterpiece far better than Attack on Titan and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The Norman reveal was a cinematic work of art, the suspense was titillating, it brought me to the edge of my seat. The animation was something beyond words really. It was a solid 10/10, with my jaw DROPPING when Norman was revealed to be alive and well.
Then, the recap episode happened.
I think the best part of a show is when it dedicates an entire episode to showcasing all the events that have transpired beforehand to the audience that has already watched all of those episodes already. It just shows what a show can make its audience watch with enough proper storytelling and animation. The recap episode was the pinnacle, the climax, and the coup de gras of The Promised Neverland.
Almost brought me to tears, the episode after the recap episode was so excellent that I wished that I could rate it an 11/10. That's how good the episode it was. It totally DESTROYED the silly trope of "show, don't tell" by masterfully and craftily utilizing more than half of the episode to explain all the events that happened to Norman in the course of over 2 1/2 years. The character development in this episode was really marvelous and was beautifully done, as each character bounced off the other like the newer episodes of SNL (which keeps getting better and funnier each time).
Am I joking? Yes

It's going way too quick, and they are skipping a lot of what should be shown as character development. They fucked up this season, the fact that it's only 11 eps too. No idea why they did that. Maybe there will be a part 2 added on, but like even if you read the manga you'll see that the ending was rushed too. Sucks, at least it was a good little series.

the reason why neverland was so good in the first place was because it was a survival horror type shonen but it just gradually turns into a regular shonen i dont find it as interesting as the first arc

I haven't seen the manga but season 2 defenitly feels underwhelming up till now when compared to season 1. s1 felt "scarier" and the pacing this seaon also seems rushed.

He even called the first season a near masterpiece lmao , must be hard seeing it get obliterated . Haven't watched Promised Neverland yet , but when I do I'll just watch Season 1 .
That's the way to go, I guess. And you could read the manga subsequent to it.

I know nothing about manga and I don't care about it. I've dropped it for some other reasons.
That huge timeskip right to the demons' society was extremely unhealthy. And overall it seems to get weaker and more boring than the first season. Like all that hype and heat has gone for good. I feel no thrill anymore.

This is because not only have we cut out significant characters, major background and plot points, not to mention a whole bridging arc... but we've ignored Emma's "solution" to the overarching problem of the whole series, passing it off and assuming her optimism will solve all the hastily consequent problems that we (anime viewers) aren't even fully aware of, whereas (in the manga) she has a tangible plan to resolve more of the socio-political issues brought up progressively through each of the arcs.
It's sad really, because I feel like the series had a lot of build up, and the arcs after the initial Escape did well in building the overall world of the series. I felt pretty excited reading the manga after having seen the first season of the anime. Though, I can't say I was all that satisfied with how it ultimately panned out. But, if we were going to pull a Tokyo Ghoul and go with an original anime spin-off, then I'd have much preferred the series not bothered to rush itself through 12 episodes. At least pace yourself.
I'd recommend just reading the manga at your own risk.
